El Cascanueces y El Rey de los Ratones

"The Nutcracker and the Mouse King" is not just a performance, but an experience that captures the essence of the holiday season. Since its premiere in Puerto Rico in 1956 by Ballets de San Juan, it has become a beloved tradition that marks the beginning of the festivities for many Puerto Rican families. A fun fact: Tchaikovsky's famous "Waltz of the Flowers," an integral part of "The Nutcracker," introduced the instrument known as the celesta to an orchestra for the first time. Its crystalline and ethereal sound became synonymous with the Christmas magic that the ballet represents.
